Safe, Painless & Very Comfortable

What is Microsuction Ear Wax Removal & Is it Safe?

There are several traditional methods of removing ear wax from the ears, such as ear irrigation and ear syringing. While these methods are effective, they have risks because they involve flushing water into the ear to remove the wax. This can cause infections and, in some cases, cause pain during the procedure.

Microsuction ear wax removal is an alternative ear wax removal process that is safer, easier and strongly recommended.

Our micro suction ear wax removal in Hatfield is done by certified professionals using the latest ear wax removal equipment to ensure the safety and effective removal of ear wax. The process is quick, taking about 5 minutes to complete, making it ideal for children as well.

Before the microsuction procedure is conducted, we examine the ear using a microscope to ensure there is wax and there are no additional problems in the ear canal. We then use a gentle suction tube to remove the ear wax without causing pain or discomfort inside the ear.

Overall, micro suction is better for your ear health compared to the more traditional methods of ear wax removal. It offers targeted ear wax removal that lowers the risk of accidental damage to the ear and is comfortable.

Another reason to try our micro suction ear wax removal in Hatfield is because it is safe for kids. The process only takes a few minutes to complete. It is also painless, which makes it easy for kids to sit still throughout the process.

We have a fantastic team of professionals who provide plenty of reassurance and a calm and relaxed environment for the child to ensure the process goes on smoothly.

Earwax Removal Appointment Process

What to Expect at Your Ear Wax Removal Consultation?

Step 1

We will start by taking your medical history. The clinician may also ask questions related to your ears to provide a detailed report before the wax removal procedure.

Step 2

After collecting your medical history, we will examine the ears. We use specialist equipment we use to check if you have wax in the ears and how much.

Step 3

From the results of the pre-examination step, we will explain the findings, and if the micro suction procedure is necessary, we will explain it to you in detail before we start.

Step 4

We will begin the microsuction ear wax removal procedure. It should last about 5-10 minutes. If the ear wax is stubborn, the process could take slightly longer. The process is safe, pain-free, and largely comfortable.

Step 5

After the ear wax removal process is complete, we will conduct a post-examination of the ears. We will check the health of your ear canal and eardrums before you leave the clinic.

Step 6

If we cannot remove all the wax in your first appointment, we will offer you a free follow-up appointment within four weeks of your original appointment to complete the removal and examine the ears.

What Happens If Ear Wax is Not Removed?

Not having your ear wax removed could lead to various challenges, including causing a plug that can block the ear, causing any of the following:

  • Sudden hearing loss
  • Pain in the ear
  • Itchiness
  • Dizziness
  • Tinnitus (a ringing or buzzing sound constantly heard in the ear)

Another little-known fact is that a cough can also be caused by compacted ear wax. This could put pressure on the nerve in the ear, which can result in coughing.

Should you experience any of the above symptoms, we recommend getting your ear checked by a professional who can look into your ears safely. They can help determine the problem and remove the wax using a microsuction ear wax removal procedure.

I am not one to give reviews, but this place deserves it. I am a light sleeper and wake up easily from noise, and all standard earplugs either fall, or hurt me. I got custom made earplugs here and wow. Just, wow. I cannot thank this place enough. My sleep quality has increased to levels I only dreamed I could get ! Super super thankful. The service was also absolutely incredible and kind. 10/10 would recommend.

Wholeheartedly recommend. I booked a next day appointment with Asif at the Marylebone clinic (it uses space within a pharmacy) to get both ears cleaned after losing hearing in one of them. The process was quick, pain free, but most importantly, effective. I could hear straight away. I left things slightly late (3 weeks after losing hearing) so the ear was a bit red and tender- if you have hearing loss and no throbbing pain, it’s most likely a blocked ear and not an infection, in any case, get it checked out right away and don’t wait like I did! All is good now and a big thank you for getting my hearing back!

Broke one of my hearing aids while away from home. Had trouble finding a repair specialist and walked into London Hearing Specialist on Heath Street. The audiologist saw me in-between patients and found a fine temporary fix for me that works well. Extremely grateful for the help and recommend this audiologist with extreme enthusiasm.

FAQ’s

Ear Wax Removal Hertford FAQ's

  • How long does it take for wax to leave your ear?
The time it takes to remove the wax from your ear depends on the type of ear wax removal procedure you choose. Some methods can take a few days to a few weeks, while microsuction ear removal takes a few minutes.
  • How well can you hear after ear wax removal?
Cleaning your ear canal can make a world of difference. The exact difference depends on how much wax you had. In patients with impacted ear wax, the difference in hearing can be up to 75%. Experts estimate that removing an earwax plug can improve hearing by 10 decibels.
  • How do I know if ear wax is causing the problem?
There's no sure way to know if ear wax is causing the problem unless you get an examination to confirm if it is. If you come to your clinic in Hatfield, we can confirm that it is earwax causing the problem and remove it the same day. We can also offer you a hearing test for £30 and a tympanometry test for £60 to investigate the reason for your discomfort further.
  • How long does the appointment take?
On average, your microsuction earwax removal procedure lasts up to 10 minutes unless the wax is stubborn, in which case we would need more time.
